About the Role

The Director of Business Development will lead growth efforts across U.S. Army accounts, owning pipeline development, opportunity shaping, and revenue execution.

This is a hands-on, externally focused role requiring strong relationships across Army program offices and acquisition stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings a hunter mentality, deep market knowledge, and the ability to convert customer engagement into funded opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and execute business development strategy across U.S. Army accounts

  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline aligned to revenue objectives

  • Identify, shape, and capture opportunities across Army modernization priorities

  • Develop relationships with PEOs, PMs, and operational stakeholders

  • Lead capture efforts from early positioning through contract award

  • Partner with internal teams to align technical solutions with mission needs

  • Establish and manage strategic partnerships with primes and integrators

  • Represent the organization at industry events, demonstrations, and customer engagements

Key Performance Indicators

  • Pipeline growth and qualification accuracy

  • Bookings and revenue against target

  • Opportunity conversion rate (pipeline → award)

  • Customer engagement and account penetration

  • Strategic partnership development and effectiveness

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in defense business development, sales, or capture

  • Strong relationships within the U.S. Army ecosystem

  • Proven track record of building pipeline and closing DoD opportunities

  • Experience with communications, C4ISR, SATCOM, RF, or related technologies

  • Understanding of DoD acquisition processes and procurement pathways

  • Ability to operate independently and drive measurable growth

Preferred:

  • Prior military experience or direct Army customer background

  • Experience with defense primes, integrators, or emerging technology firms

  • Familiarity with Army modernization priorities and funding structures

  • Demonstrated success in complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles

Additional Requirements
