About the Role

The Director of Business Development will lead growth initiatives across U.S. Navy and Marine Corps accounts, owning pipeline development, capture strategy, and revenue outcomes.

This role requires strong relationships within the Navy ecosystem and the ability to shape opportunities from early engagement through contract award. The ideal candidate combines market knowledge, technical credibility, and disciplined sales execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development strategy across Navy and Marine Corps accounts

  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline aligned to revenue targets

  • Identify and shape opportunities aligned to Navy modernization priorities

  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders across acquisition and operational communities

  • Lead capture efforts for strategic and large-scale programs

  • Collaborate with internal teams to align solutions with mission requirements

  • Develop and manage partnerships with primes and ecosystem partners

  • Represent the organization at customer engagements, demonstrations, and industry events

Key Performance Indicators

  • Pipeline growth and opportunity qualification

  • Bookings and revenue performance

  • Capture success rate across targeted programs

  • Customer engagement depth and account expansion

  • Strategic partner alignment and contribution to wins

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in defense business development or sales

  • Strong relationships across Navy or Marine Corps stakeholders

  • Proven success building pipeline and closing complex DoD opportunities

  • Experience with communications, SATCOM, ISR, C5ISR, or related mission systems

  • Understanding of Navy acquisition processes and funding pathways

  • Ability to operate in a growth-focused, fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • Prior Navy or Marine Corps experience or deep market exposure

  • Background with defense primes or high-growth technology companies

  • Experience working across system integrators and partner ecosystems

  • Demonstrated success in multi-year, complex capture efforts
